DO YOU WANT TO SCALE YOUR COMPANY?

Dr. Donald Berwick - Saving 100,000 Lives

The 17th episode of the Psychology Podcast with Daniel Karim features Dr. Donald Berwick the former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Why I Wanted To Learn From Dr. Donald Berwick

Some Is Not a Number. Soon Is Not a Time. The number is 100,000. The time is NOW. The goal is achievable, but we need your help. Please be part of the 100,000 Lives Campaign.

One year ago, while creating my ideal future blueprint I set out a career goal that changed the trajectory of my life forever: Change the lives of 100000 individuals for the better within the next five years.

This was the answer to the question; What do I have to do with my career in order to feel worthwhile?

There was only one “small” problem with this “humble” proclamation – I had no idea how to do it.

How does one transform himself into an individual that is capable of changing the world?

This was precisely the question that motivated me to reach out to Dr. Donald Berwick, one of the architects of the 100,000 lives campaign, a national initiative to engage thousands of U.S. hospitals in an effort to prevent 100,000 needless inpatient deaths by changing the habits of hospital employees.
